HM W4 D6 & 7 - Cross Training 40 min & 5 miles
I’ve been a terrible runblr this weekend. I did things and I didn’t post them. Here they are!
My bike ride Saturday was a bit windy. This was good because I could get the hard part out of the way. It was bad because I accidentally cut my ride short by riding too fast on the way home. I made up the 10 minutes with a walk… two kids, a dog and a mom. It was hectic but we got it done.
Sunday, I was ready to kill this 5 miles. I started running and felt ok. Then… oops. I was hungry. Why? Because I suck.
- I didn’t bring extra fuel with me. I figured it was just 5 miles.
- I didn’t eat breakfast. Just some sports beans. Whomp whomp.
I used past training to plan out this run but that was a major fail on my part. I need a new plan for a new me.
Other than being hungry for 3.5 miles out of 4 miles on the trail, I felt really great and I wanted to run forever. I love that trail. Unfortunately I knew enough to cut the run short to avoid fainting. I was really mad at myself for the poor planning.
I got back to my car I headed to 7eleven and got a quest bar (yum), but I didn’t want to give up on getting 5 miles in so I started running from home and OMG HEAVY METAL LEGS! My legs have never felt so heavy. Not painful, just heavy.
They loosened up a bit but hunger struck again and I struggled to get the full mile in. I don’t know how to start a new run without syncing my watch so the 5 miles are recorded as one run. I’m good with that.
My pace was… well, I don’t care. I got it done. I didn’t just give up. Next week I’ll have a better plan in place and I’ll rock my 6 miles.
