Belated Race Recap - Rock & Roll Brooklyn 10K
I started strong and pushed through the hills… they weren’t as steep as Cow Harbor so I definitely had an easier time.
My one mistake was trying to catch up with Jocelyn & her friend… I spotted them at one point and was so excited that I was doing well. I got a little to ambitious and it cost me my “not getting sick” during/after a race streak. Lesson learned.
After the short lived “illness” I was able to push on and only stopped for water stations & a short stint on the .5 mile hill. I was also successful at not carrying water. I think this will probably only be successful during races with water stations but now that it’s fall I have time to figure that out.
I PR’d the crap out of this 10K - a 7:06 min PR. I think this is my favorite distance so far and I’m looking forward to kicking ass at the next one I find.
Overall I was super happy with this race and it was an enjoyable one. Plus, it was nice getting to do some sisterly bonding.
